BLACKPINK’s Lisa creates a sensation among her fans with a brand new music video for ‘FUTW’ which appears in her upcoming album ‘Alter Ego’. Let’s find out Vixi.

BLACKPINK’s Lisa has made it clear that she is no longer only a K-pop artist but has become a renowned rapper in Hollywood with her latest banger ‘FUTW’ or ‘FXCK THE WORLD UP’. This song appears in her upcoming album ‘Alter Ego’ where she is offering different shades of her personality. In this particular song, she has provided a powerful Vixi Solo Version where Vixi represents one of her psychotic alter egos. Lisa has shown her immaculate rapping skills through this track which soars with an unapologetic lyrical approach. The song has also released an official music video that perfectly depicts the killer and chaotic attitude of Vixi. There is a fair share of usage of animation in the music video which looks quite funky with neon-graded colors. Those who are familiar with ‘Arcane’s character Jinx, might find some familiarity with Vixi as she is not afraid to make an entrance after throwing a bomb.
‘FUTW’ offers fairly explicit lyricism and a raw approach which is quite new and different from Lisa’s regular works and united performances in the band. With lines like “They want the old LISA, then listen to my old shi*”, the rapper has made it clear that she has changed and this new unwavering aura cannot be stopped. Vixi shows the powerful and unapologetic side of Lisa as a rapper. There are some lines like “Saying some shit that’ll make ‘em think it Thought provoking/ Only do things that are making history/ Try to make moves that’ll make ‘em miss me” It is evident that she is breaking the typical pattern of commercial success and doing whatever that helps to express her real-self. ‘FUTW’ is a passionate work by Lisa and she offered a wonderful performance for everyone.
While Lisa is able to sell her track, it is also true that such hip-hop creations have been already made in the industry. The usage of sirens recalls hip-hop hits of the 2000s and the soundscape is energetic enough to keep the pace high. Yet the trendy and overused rhythms make it sound like one of the recent hip-hop tracks but not ‘the one’. Lisa’s charismatic personality and the cinematic representation in the music video appear quite engaging for the fans and set a benchmark for her rapping skills. Now, all that remains is to see what new ingredients she can bring to the plate.
