Miley Cyrus is here with another bop, starting her new era with a bang! The latest single ‘End of the World’ and its accompanying music video are out now!

Miley Cyrus is getting into the groove of her upcoming ‘Something Beautiful’ album. On Friday, April 4th, she gave fans a treat by dropping her next single from the project, titled ‘End of the World’. According to Miley Cyrus’ Instagram, the ’80s-inspired song kicks off a powerful and emotional journey that is part of her new project’s dramatic style. In the music video, she is seen with big, flowing blonde hair, wearing a sparkly green mini-dress, and singing on an orange-lit stage with her band behind her.
In the music video, Miley Cyrus is seen dancing in a soft, hazy silhouette in front of a band, and then the camera zooms in as she moves on the ground wearing the sparkly green dress. The dreamy filter adds to the mood as she sings, “Let’s pretend it’s not the end of the world.” The song also mentions partying like Paul McCartney and taking one last drive to Malibu. She emotionally sings, “Show me how you’d hold me if tomorrow never came.”
With her ninth album, Something Beautiful set to drop on May 30, the global pop star is not slowing down when it comes to showcasing for her fans what is next. Just days after releasing the ‘Prelude’ and the album’s title track, she is back with another single, ‘End of the World’. The upbeat yet emotional track feels perfect for tough times, as the ‘Can’t be Tamed’ musician sings about living life to the fullest, even when everything feels like it is falling apart. In the second verse, she sings, “Let’s spend the money you’ve been saving on a Mercedes-Benz, and throw a party like McCartney with a little help from my friends.”
Fans also realized that she first performed a stripped-down version of this song last year during a small, private show at the Chateau Marmont with friends and family. Many believed the emotional ballad was dedicated to her mom, Tish Cyrus, and now, it turns out to be the same song!
The ‘Flowers’ singer gave fans a sneak peek of the song earlier this week by posting clips on social media. This included a bit of the music video, which she co-directed with Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter. In an Instagram post, she shared that these songs are part of a deeper, emotional journey that follows the story of the album and its accompanying film in order. Cyrus announced her upcoming visual album, Something Beautiful, in March. This is set to be released on 30th May. This will be her ninth album and will feature 13 original songs. Miley is co-producing the album with Shawn Everett, who is known for working with artists like Alabama Shakes and Kacey Musgraves. While not much has been revealed about the full album yet, Miley has shared that it is inspired by Pink Floyd’s iconic album The Wall.
