American musician Camila Cabello talks about her life journey, heartbreaks, and truest emotions in her newly released studio album, ‘Familia’ featuring 12 tracks.
Cuban-American singer-songwriter Camila Cabello released her third studio album ‘Familia’ on April 8th, 2022 through Epic Records. The gifted artist has named the album after the Spanish word for family. Though born and bred in Miami, the hitmaker has recently concentrated more on her Cuban-Mexican roots through her music. The first song in the album, ‘Celia’ is a full-fledged Spanish song with her eight-year-old cousin Caro providing the backing vocals. ‘Hasta Los Dientes’ featuring Maria Becerra is also sung in Spanish entirely. The other two songs, ‘La Buena Vida’ and ‘No Doubt’ also feature some Spanish lines or verses alongside dominating English lyrics. The anguishing resonance of the songs has made the album stand out among the contemporary crowd.
This is Cabello’s third solo album and she conveys the message that she is learning and healing from her past experiences and flourishing in life through its tracks. The album is presented as her journey of overcoming various hurdles and heartbreaks in life that come from trying to include your lover as a part of the family only to have to part ways with them. The songs are bound to make you feel related and dig up similar memories to find closer. The album is a perfect infusion of the artist’s rich Latin heritage, modern pop sounds, and experimental cadence. She has collaborated with Ed Sheeran, WILLOW, Maria Becerra, and Yotuel on the album.
The third Studio album, ‘Familia’ comes almost three years after her last LP, ‘Romance’ released in 2019 and a few months after her breakup with her boyfriend of two years Shawn Mendes. The songs prove that Cabello’s natural singing skills and her ability to generate true emotions through her vocal presentation can break the boundaries of language and connect with the audience on a higher level. She is able to engage the audience and keep them hooked with her story, making a permanent place in their hearts.
Camila Cabello has also talked about her heated exit from her girl band Fifth Harmony in the song, ‘Psycho Freak’, offering closure to her fans and herself at some point as well. She sings, ‘I don’t blame the girls for how it went down, down’ and it is the first time she has been vocal about the matter. The line could also be a reference to Fifth Harmony’s first song, ‘Down’ after her exit from the band in 2016. Follow her on Instagram for more news.
