Saturday Night Live has successfully reached its 50th year and the anniversary was celebrated with a complete blast. Find out the best moments from SNL 50.

Saturday Night Live or SNL is the biggest TV show ever that has been winning the hearts of the audiences for a long time now. With years of entertainment and celebrity interviews, the show has finally reached its 50th anniversary and offered a gala celebration with this milestone. ‘SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert’ was one of the most star-studded concerts ever that almost appeared like an award ceremony. The concert was arranged at the Radio City Music Hall on Friday and it offered a genre-bending musical experience for all. It took place before its anniversary special Sunday episode, lasting up to three hours.
It was definitely one of the best concerts ever with artists from the past and the present blended in to offer a fair dose of nostalgia and 50 years of development in the music and entertainment industry. Starting from Miley Cyrus, Bad Bunny, and Lady Gaga to Cher, Backstreet Boys, Snoop Dog, and Lauryn Hil; everybody offered a captivating performance. Guess what? There was also Nirvana and Post Malone decided to offer the vocals for the band. Similarly, legends like Eddie Vedder, St. Vincent, Devo, The White Stripes, Wyclef, David Byrne, Arcade Fire, and many others have participated in the grand event. While the concert has been broadcast, there are still many moments that you might have missed of the concert.
Jimmy Fallon did the honor of hosting just like the other Saturdays but this time he also performed with the honor of the Blues Brothers. The late-night sketch started amazingly and before Fallon joined the stage, Michael Che made sure to offer the best MC performance by readying the crowd for the big night. It was live broadcast through Peacock and here are the moments you missed.
The Performance at the Lobby
One of the most iconic collaborations of the night was the powerful performance by St. Vincent, David Byrne, Arcade Fire, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. However, their high-octane grooves did not stop on the stage. Arcade Fire and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band decided to continue with their creative essence through the lobby.

The orchestra kept walking and performing and the crowd really appreciated it by joining the steps. Jon Hamm could be seen dancing as he walked by them and the onlookers offered the same energy as the bands. Attendees could watch the past musical performances in SNL during the commercial break and many others took that moment to have a little chat such as Jim Gaffigan and Pete Davidson.
Start-Studded Seating Arrangement
The night of SNL 50 was enhanced by the presence of the stars of Hollywood as well as the music industry. The seating included A-list names such as Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Kevin Costner, Kevin Bacon, Pedro Pascal, Rita Wilson, Kyra Sedgwick, Meryl Streep, Martin Short, Billy Crystal and the list goes on. It included all the celebrities who are current of former cast members of the SNL. There were also Bowen Yang, Keegan-Michael Key, Kristin Wiig, Andy Samberg, Paul Rudd, and many others who made the night even shinier.

Lorne Michaels was in the center of the orchestra sitting with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. A few rows back, there were also Alec Baldwin Hilaria Baldwin, and Jerry Seinfeld as well. There was a fair amount of booze and buzz with Jason Momoa hoisting two bottles of beer while Snoop Dogg lit up a joint on the stage. Everyone was definitely in a party mood!
The Standing Ovations for the Deserving
People could not believe it when Fred Armisen who cosplayed Price announced that Cher would be performing next. The excitement among the crowd heightened further when it was time for the Backstreet Boys to perform. And then Bad Bunny took over the stage. With their amazing performance, they immediately received standing ovations from everyone. It happened the same way when Lady Gaga offered a captivating performance of ‘Shallow’ and received the biggest cheers. Everything intensified when Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer offered reprised versions of the hit tracks like Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” Britney Spears’s “Work Bitch,” and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Body”. Miley Cyrus also made the crowd sing along with her by saying, “Are you all going to do the Grammys thing where you’re famous and don’t sing along?”
Chevy Chase is Back
One of the most surprising moments of the night was when original SNL cast member Chevy Chase appeared at the end of the telecast. He was standing near the stage and Fallon spotted him right away. He shook his hand and said in an appreciative tone, “We wouldn’t be here without you.” However, he did not receive many cheers as the man has a reputation for making abrasive comments.
It goes without saying that SNL 50 was one of the most diversified concert programs ever happened and it truly seemed like a celebration for the 50th anniversary.
