Taylor Swift makes her quarantine fruitful by creating fifteen outstanding melodic masterpieces that are released through the exceptional album Evermore.
After the surprise release of her eighth studio album Folklore in July 2020, America’s favorite country turned pop star Taylor Swift is back with her next magnificent album called Evermore in just five months. The album as she calls it the ‘sister record’ of the previous album and it came out with an equal amount of surprise on Thursday night. Similar to Folklore, the latest album has 15 new and original songs that were created during the quarantine period in the pandemic. The brilliant artist worked tremendously hard with her crew of musicians led by Aaron Dessner of The National to make the new album happen in just five months. Each song in the album showcases incredible artistic sophistication through its passionate melody and captivating instrumental resonance.
While talking about the album in her social media post, she confirmed the existence of the album in the morning of the release saying,’ To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs.’ She also revealed news about the music video for the opening track ‘Willow’. The sisters of Hime join the party in the song ‘No Body, No Crime’. The National is also featured in the song called ‘Coney Island’. She also collaborated with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon as a duet artist in the song ‘Evermore’, who also appeared on Folklore. The reverberated sounds and textures of both acoustic and electronic instrumentation add a new height to the melodic exuberance of the songs in the album. The impact of her breathy and penetrating vocals is rather amplified by the gripping chamber-rock sound in the rhythmic backdrop of the tracks.
While the pandemic has kept her away from the stage, the prolific artist didn’t seem to waste the time and devoted herself to write wondrously eloquent songs that flaunt her remarkable creativity and boundless imagination. The new album presents the singer in all her glory triumphing over the expectation of the fans. The album offers some seriously extraordinary melodies that have the potential to overshadow her previous works in Folklore. The songs such as ‘Tolerate It’, ‘Gold Rush’, and ‘Champagne Problems’ deal with the relationship problems in a non-judgemental and realistic way that resonates with many. The most interesting fact is that ‘Champagne Problems’ was written by her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.
The album closes with her interesting duet with Bon Iver in ‘Evermore’ that is the perfect reminiscent of their previous duet ‘Exile’ in Folklore. The song exudes exceptional chemistry between the two artists that bring the song to its glorious peak. Taylor Swift proved her wonder articulacy and singing dexterity once again with her newest album Evermore with Republic label. The album showcases her raw emotions wrapped in the warm embrace of her heart-rending vocal performance and mesmerizing instrumental riffs. 2020 has unfurled great potential from the direction of the artist with her back to back hits. The album is available on all major music streaming platforms now. Follow her on her social media accounts and stay tuned about her upcoming projects.
